Burn Away

hey, everyone who says this song/album sucks, shut up. Foo Fighters is one of the best bands I've heard for a while now. Especially since bands like Nirvana died out. Now there's only this gay pop and rap shit. There's no such thing as music anymore. There's Foo Fighters, RHCP, and other really good Alternative Bands, and then there's shit.

Ive read in several reviews of One By One where 'pride' in Burn Away is referred to as 'bride'.

yeah uh, i'm pretty sure it is "save me your last dance", and i copied those lyrics directly from their website to try and make sure they were right....go figure...sorry i didn't notice that in the first place

ick. i agree so much with jek21. on all the albums there is like a few good songs that make up for the rest.

I love this song. I'm not exactly sure what it means but its one of the best songs off the album.

I like this song, I don't care what people say, I really like this album, of course there are some song I dislike but... Tha always happens-

as punker_rocker said...The song goes "Burn away my bride." I checked the official Foo Fighters website on this one. "Burn away my pride" causes a completely different meaning. Good song though.

I love this song. It look awhile to get into it, but now it's one of my favorite songs on the album. To me, this is about endings- "I'm begging for ignition to start it all again" and how they can rip you apart. Burn you up.

This song was decent, not too bad. Jek21, did you even listen to, and not just hear, One By One? Sure, "Overdrive" isn't a favourite; this song isn't a best; but One By One has a lot of good songs, including "Come Back", a best, in my opinion, vocals, guitar, and all. As with religion and non-religion, agree to disagree.....Anyways, I always thought this was aboot how the Foos don't want to become some mythologized, arrogant band who's sold their soul and lost touch with the actual music or feelings, how they're trying to stay grounded. Think aboot it..... "The same old superstition Haunt us now and then...." --Staying level-headed and other boundaries that would keep their music from its potential (i.e, "is this song too emotional/revealing/offensive?", "is this too acoustic, metal, unstylistic etc...?") is something they dealt with and still deal with and still will.

"I'm begging for ignition To start it all again..." --As in, begging for inspiration/emotion to continue making great songs and the need to not become complacent, to take risks and have fun.

"We'll burn away Burn away, burn away my pride......." --As in, they'll stay level-headed and grounded, and in touch with reality. Could be wrong, but my analysis seems correct (annotating novels for Advanced English has to count for something...).
