"Burn Away" as written by Taylor Hawkins, Christopher A. Shiflett, David Eric Grohl and Nate Mendel....
I have spent a lifetime
Waiting for the chance
To save you my confession
Save the one last dance
The same old superstition
Haunt us now and then
I'm begging for ignition
To start it all again

We'll burn away
Burn away, burn away my pride
We'll burn away
Burn away, burn away my pride
We'll burn away
From all the other flames that burn tonight
We'll burn away
Burn away, burn away my pride

Breathe for me from now on
Breathe for me when I'm gone
Burn out beyond
Out beyond the sun

Will you still remember
There behind the skies
Walking on the embers
Standing in their light
The hardest part is knowing
Everything must die
The hardest part is waiting here
Waiting to collide

We'll burn away
Burn away, burn away my pride
We'll burn away
Burn away, burn away my pride
We'll burn away
From all the other flames that burn tonight
We'll burn away
Burn away, burn away my pride

Breathe for me from now on
Breathe for me when I'm gone
Burn out beyond
Out beyond the sun

Burn on, burn on
Calling to you
Burn on, burn on
Calling to you
Burn on, burn on

I'll never burn again
Never burn again
Never burn again
Never burn again
We'll never burn again
Never burn again

General Commenthey, everyone who says this song/album sucks, shut up. Foo Fighters is one of the best bands I've heard for a while now. Especially since bands like Nirvana died out. Now there's only this gay pop and rap shit. There's no such thing as music anymore. There's Foo Fighters, RHCP, and other really good Alternative Bands, and then there's shit.

General Commentthis songs sucks, it's too bad "One By One" starts sucking so much after Lonely As You...oh well, the rest of the album kicks so much ass it more than makes up for the 3 or 4 lame songs.

General Commentas punker_rocker said...The song goes "Burn away my bride." I checked the official Foo Fighters website on this one. "Burn away my pride" causes a completely different meaning. Good song though.

General CommentI love this song. It look awhile to get into it, but now it's one of my favorite songs on the album.
To me, this is about endings- "I'm begging for ignition to start it all again" and how they can rip you apart. Burn you up.
