Shame Lyrics
Is it dark yet outside?
I'm through hiding tonight
Take from the rest, your debt erased
Sleep with my curse and feel no shame
No shame
It might take you all night
But you'll love me with time
Take from the rest, your debt erased
Sleep with my curse and feel no shame
No shame
Take from the rest, your debt erased
Sleep with my curse and feel no shame
No shame
Is it dark yet outside?
I'm through hiding tonight
Take from the rest your debt erased
Sleep with my curse and feel no shame
No shame
Take from the rest your debt erased
Sleep with my curse and feel no shame
No shame
I'm through hiding tonight
Take from the rest, your debt erased
Sleep with my curse and feel no shame
No shame
But you'll love me with time
Take from the rest, your debt erased
Sleep with my curse and feel no shame
No shame
Sleep with my curse and feel no shame
No shame
I'm through hiding tonight
Take from the rest your debt erased
Sleep with my curse and feel no shame
No shame
Sleep with my curse and feel no shame
No shame

I keep thinking the chorus goes as follows;
Take from my wrist, your debt erased....and so on.
Im probably totally wrong as usual!!!
"take from my wrist your debt erased, sleep with my curse, and feel no shame"
and one other small correction
"It might take you your life But you'll love me with time "
This song, is only a bnous track on the new album, but hell, it is my favorite song, I beleive that this song is talking about being afraid of being who you really are. I relate to this song, because there is this guy who i like, who seems to be afraid because he may be bisexual, he doesnt know and he told me pissed that he didnt want anyone to find out, and, that isn't what this song is talking about, but it relates to what this song is talking about, and he is basically saying it's okay to be who you are and what you have done doesnt matter, I dunno, i just really love this song.
I agree actually, it does sound like that and it makes a lot more sense.
Though yeah it is take frommy wrist
Has anyone else read John Irving's "The Fourth Hand"? It seems like this song could fit with that, particularly the chorus, and the "It might take you your life, but you'll love me with time" part could refer to Patrick's relationship with Doris.
It wouldn't be the first time Jim used an Irving novel as a source for a song, i.e. "Goodbye Sky Harbor" being modeled after Irving's "A Prayer for Owen Meany."
probably the best song from 'futures'. i wonder why they chose to leave it off the album...
and in response to sin-é: i agree with that. jim has implied in several interviews that he is a big reader. quite a few of their songs contain refernces to various literature or have been clearly inspired by it.
Excellent song. One of the best songs they've made in the futures project...and its not even on the album.
The guitar verse halfway through the song is killer.
You are so right Rebirth210. This is quite simply the best guitar ever heard on a JEW track. Thank God I managed to get the special edition CD. Pure chance too!
Its a good song indeed .. I only got the demo version.. is there a 'real' version somewhere out there?
