Mother of Abominations Lyrics

Iya Iya Cthulhu Fetagen!

Mother of abominations,
Our Lady Overkill,
Smothering the congregation,
Grips the cosmic wheel.
A lover of acceleration,
No mercy nor brakes applied.
I see dead stars collide
In Her cold unflinching powerslide.

Comets tear the skies,
Gushing from a shattered silence,
Never so alive
Like the rush of cum on nymphetamines.
Minds desanitized.
Nightchords rung on a ladder of violence.
Darkness fantasized,
Sleek and polished black.

Instrumental in stripping gods
To neuter and mute their staves.
Thereafter,
Her laughter
Shalt soon aloft their future graves!

Heavens above,
Fear the Gorgon eyes of a new moon rising.
Expect no love
When She enters your golden halls.

Millenial the whore,
Riding wide astride the horns of madness.
Clarions forth the war
Spilling the wine of her fornication.
Perrenial the gore,
Filling the lines between split nations.
Seeping under doors,
In time tides force a wider crack.

Mother of abominations,
Our Lady Overkill,
Smothering the congregation,
Licks the royal milk.

The scourge hangs at Her girdle,
Death slathers neath Her heel,
Seeking blood to curdle
When the gathered clouds reveal
Her roared abortive labour,
Thighs slick with molten steel,
ripping into sabres
For vulcan spawns to wield.

Instrumental in stripping gods,
To neuter and lash her slaves.
Thereafter,
Her laughter
Shalt sound aloft the crashing waves!

Heavens above,
Fear the Gorgon eyes of a new caste rising.
Expect no love
When they enter your golden halls.
On sanguine floods,
Here the foregone cries of the last surviving,
Skewered like doves
Outside these wailing walls.

This seems to be about an extremely powerful female deity. There are hints of war being waged against the patriarchy of Christianity, or possibly another major religion (though with Dani, I doubt it). It is confusing, though; sometimes he seems thankful that this figure has gripped "the cosmic wheel", while other times he portrays her as an embodiment of the trend of modern society (shown in an unfavorable light). Not his best, but still better than most other bands can come up with. Sweet song, too.

The dark spirit of the great Cthulhu awakens from centuries of slumber, instigating the inevitable destruction of human existence.

Iya Iya Cthulu Fetagen could be part of a incantation from the necronomicon, and this song could be about the goddess Inanna who is the goddess of love and of war as written in the necronomicon

Fantastic song

As much as Swansong For A Raven counts as a 'sequel' to Her Ghost In The Fog, this could be considered as a follow up to Cthulhu Dawn.

Also, I don't know, I just feel the need to point out that it's spelt "Ia, Ia, Cthulhu, Fhtagn"

My guess would be that this song refers to Hydra, a character from the Cthulhu mythos... "Mother of Abominations" - Sounds like Hydra to me...

Is it 'Ia' or 'Ea'? Maybe the same Ea referred to in the burzum track Ea, Lord of the Depths?

Ea some sort of water deity? Middle Eastern perhaps? Possibly one of those conglomerates of various mythical creatures that have been filtered through cultures?

so many questions. so few answers.

PsyEythan, what story is Hydra mentioned in because I've read a lot of Lovecraft and never saw it. Anyways I think this is about the coming of the old ones and destruction of the human race, etc.
