Don't Go (Girls and Boys) Lyrics
I was ridin' my bike on 43rd street
Past the station and
There's one person without a seat
Got my sunnies 'cause the sun just
Keeps on lookin' right through me
Ain't nobody gonna stop me
Baby can't you see
[Chorus:]
Don't go
Girls and boys should be together
Don't go
Girls and boys can rule the world
Don't go
Boys and boys should be together
Don't go
Girls and girls can rule the world
I've got jumbo polka-dotted trousers
With the empty pockets
It's funny to me that the two of us
Could fit in one pair
Kings and queens on magazines
That have me on the cover
But none of that compares to
Just one night alone with you
And what you do
Don't go
Girls and boys should be together
Don't go
Girls and boys can rule the world
Don't go
Boys and boys should be together
Don't go
Girls and girls can rule the world [x2]
I was just ridin' my bike on 43rd street
Past the station and there's
One person without a seat
You got me wishin' I was just a little
Squirrel at your window
Got me whistlin' a song
I thought I never could like
Just for you
Don't go
Girls and boys should be together
Don't go
Girls and boys can rule the world
Don't go
Boys and boys should be together
Don't go
Girls and girls can rule the world [x3]
Boys and boys should be together
Don't go
Girls and girls can rule the world
Past the station and
There's one person without a seat
Got my sunnies 'cause the sun just

Mmmm...first comment... Alright! Well, to me, looks like Girl is pretty adamant about their um...preferred partner ( according to the chorus all sexes are in on this song! ) 'not going.' The 2nd stanza of course shows someone who's proclaimed by 'queens and kings' but just loves hangin' out with their luffer. "I've got jumbo polka-dotted trousers With the empty pockets It's funny to me that the two of us Could fit in one pair..." I'm not sure what this is about...Perhaps it's literal but if I think about it... Girl never really expected to be in such a great relationship ("got me whistlin' a song I thought I never could like" ). Except now... the luffer's leaving. "Don't go!!" The beat roxors, no?
Yeah the song is cool, I like all her songs actually. I love Fefe.
"I've got jumbo polka-dotted trousers With the empty pockets It's funny to me that the two of us Could fit in one pair" lol...this son rocks...Fefe rocks!
lol, I wrote son instead of song
The "don't go" part never struck me as him leaving permenantly. It could also be "don't go home", as in she's having so much fun with him that she doesn't want to be a apart. It just seems like too happy a song for her to be begging not to break up with her.
I like that it supports gay relationships without being preachy. Very much "love is fun and wonderful!" and it doesn't MATTER what the sexual orientation is.
i think maybe she wasnt trying to make it a love song. just a song that was plain fun to sing along to. but at the same time trying to put a message about not judgeing others. so it really wouldnt be a love song either. watch the video and you'll see that it has nothing to do with love..
Honeslty I just dont get this song at all.. It's like on one hand she's trying to make it a love song/begging her lover not to go and on the other she's trying to have a song that supports gay pride. I mean great but pick one or the other! Its completely random and doesnt make any sense. Sorry but this song doesn't rock.
