Don't only want to dream about you, yeah
But a dream like this should never be this hard
If I should live this life without you, yeah
I'd come back and try it from the start

And I'll show you love
Because we're all alone
Put business aside
For life passes by
And I'll part your hair
When it's in your eyes
Love
Little red houses down under in my mind
Got an 8x10 for ya to sign

Never had the need to know ya, yeah
Until I heard you sing to me at night
Now all I want to do is show ya, yeah
How to turn the darkness into light

And I'll show you love
Because we're all alone
Put business aside
For life passes by
And I'll part your hair
When it's in your eyes
Love
Dirty stained jeans with the patches on the side
Got an 8 by 10 for ya to sign

And I'm comin' around

For me this song is about someone who is completely obsessed with some star. We've all had our celebrity crushes and it's just really intense for her. She can't accept that he has no idea who she is and probably never will. She wants so badly to be with him, it feels so right to her...

"Don't only want to dream about you, cause a dream like this should never be this hard"

She thinks about him all the time and it's painful to think that he might never know about her. It's a hard reality to face.

i've once heard it's about craig nicholls of the the vines.

-Little red houses down under in my mind (down under= australia= where the vines (or craig) is from) -Put business aside (cause both are musicians)

and i found this Fefe dedicated the song "8x10" to her "not so secret crush", Craig Nicholls of The Vines. The song is featured on her debut album.

I always thought this was a song about divorce. Like, they're married, and they love each other, but they just can't make it work. The "8X10" that he needed to sign always seemed like divorce papers (regardless that white paper is 8 1/2 X 11, 8 X 10 sounds way better).

"Now all I wanna do is show ya, yeah How to turn the darkness into light"

It sounds like what she wants to do is help him not hurt, even though she is too because they both still love each other.

Thsi song makes me think of someone I really like, but shouldn't,cuz I know he doesn't like me back.I think this song is kind of based around an experience like the one I'm going through.

    Amazing song though,so melancholy.

I agree with everybody in some ways.

She could be talking about either, Craig or Kurt, i think when she says ' Never had the need to know you til i heard you sing to me at night ' makes me think that she's listening to one of their cd's and is now smitten by their voices.

But all in all,i love this song. And her, to be honest :)

i agree somewhat.. but my interpretation is a bit different. i think she's in love with someone who's already famous "got an 8x10 for you to sign". "ill show you love because we're all alone" could mean away from the prying eyes of the media. "put business aside" means vaguely, to put aside his fame and work when they're together, away from it all.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
