Ohne Dich

Such a wonderful song... Without you.... God i love these guys.

This really is a great song... so unlike most of their other stuff, especially from the album 'Reise Reise'. I definitely like the fact that the singing is more melodic than in the usual Rammstein songs, simply because they're showing that they are able to do various styles of music as a band. This song is also a good example of how poetic Rammstein can be - which they actually are in a lot of they're songs - especially since it is a genuine love song.

Reise Reise does NOT suck, it is really great, but not as good as the older albums (Sehnsucht, Mutter). And clearly this is a love song.

Just to clarify what some of you have already caught on to: "Ohne Dich" was actually written for Mutter. This explains why it has a more distinct instrumental sound (listen for that mandolin!) that is different than the rest of Reise, Reise (which, although it isn't quite as good as Mutter, is FAR from "really sucks", Mr. sonne). All in all, a beautiful song.

I think I can see where sonne mond is coming from though. First of all, a most of the songs on Reise Reise sound very similar melody-wise, and second of all, almost every song on that album follows the same structure. I still like Ohne Dich, however, even if it is a bit simple. I wouldn't go as far as calling the album trivial - not every Rammstein album can be ground-breaking, but if it's not, it doesn't mean that it's trivial.

This song is so beautiful. From the chorus, to the harmony, to the verses, all put together to make this great song. Possibly my favorite song ever.

On the subject of REISE REISE, I theorize that Rammstein were planning to vary their musical style a bit, but kept most of the drastically different tracks off this album. Most of the songs for the next album (ROSENROT) were already written and considered for REISE REISE, but they may have wanted to ease the fans into the changes.

Count on ROSENROT to be more of a departure, and more "ground-breaking".

First of all for all you wanna be fans, this is NOT a love song. Til wrote this song for his mother who he was very close to and loved dearly, who passed away. He hated his father, so the lyric " without you" means what is he going to do without her?

its about love; hence, love song. id agree that its not a ballad, as such, just more toned-down i suppose. i also read the bit about his parents, think it might be true?
