This seems to be about Elizabeth Bathory, the female pendant to Dracula, if you will. In case you're not familiar with the story, you might just look it up. Basically it's about a countess murdering virgins and bathing in their blood. She believes that this is keeping her from the pains of aging. The story is pretty much all around in metal and inspired bands such as Kamelot, Cradle of Filth or, obviously, Bathory. As for X, I think it really fits to their style - it's about beauty, pain, death, blood, basically everything that defines their music in general. And the song itself is one epic metal symphony.

Very awesome song though. The intro kicks ass. (Organ FTW) The lyrics are very Gothicy and brings to mine the term "Black Rose", hence the title of the song. Tragic past, pain, sadism. It's all here. Oh, and vampires too.
