Small, simple, safe price.
Rise the wake and carry me with all of my regrets.
This is not a small cut that scabs, and dries, and flakes, and heals.
And I am not afraid to die.
I'm not afraid to bleed, and fuck, and fight.
I want the pain of payment.
What's left, but a section of pigmy size cuts.
Much like a slew of a thousand unwanted fucks.
Would you be my little cut?
Would you be my thousand fucks?
And make mark leaving space for the guilt to be liquid.
To fill, and spill over, and under my thoughts.
My sad, sorry, selfish cry out to the cutter.
I'm cutting trying to picture your black broken heart.
Love is not like anything.
Especially a fucking knife.

Look at me, you can tell.
By the way I move and do my hair.
Do you think that it's me?
Or it's not me I don't even care.
I'm alive, I smell
I'm the cleanest I have ever been.
I feel big, I feel tall, I feel dry
Dry!

Just look at me.
Look at me now.
(I'm a fake, I'm a fake, I'm a fake, I'm a fake).
Just look at me.
Look at me now.
(I'm a fake, I'm a fake, I'm a fake, I'm a fake).

Do I drink? Do I date?
I got perfect placements all my inks
Satisfied in your eyes
I'm the biggest fan I got right now
I made sure I looked how I wanted to look
The people around me, the people surround me
I feel big, I feel tall, I feel dry
Dry!

Just look at me.
Look at me now.
(I'm a fake, I'm a fake, I'm a fake, I'm a fake).
Just look at me.
Look at me now.
(I'm a fake, I'm a fake, I'm a fake, I'm a fake).

i agree, however i do think it is linked to the second part of the song, as there are two meaning to the song in my opinion, the first is obvios, he thinks hes a sell out and a fake, the second could be about people who are not really depressed, but cut to get attention, fakers (they still clearly are troubled if they think thats the only way to get attention) Ie scenesters (no offense to scenesters!!!).

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
