Pretty much self explanatory. He's been with so many people but no one can take the place of/fill the void that was left by one particular person.
argh this song is so dark, it always reminds me of my ex. silly really, but very sad.
Love this song. Another hard-hitting, deep song by Darren. It's really a self evaluation, or looking back upon what someone has done over the course of their lives. Really focusing on the love that has failed you and what you've tried to do to attain such a love. He explains all the things he has done, which are not necessarily anything to be proud of. It's the desperate feelings we have when we want to feel loved so badly that we'd go to any lenghts such as giving away our pride, letting strangers love us, whispering bull-shit nothings... and although we try so hard we sometimes cannot get passed that one special love that got away, calling their name to others. That line is such a sad thought. This entire song is very sad and very beautiful. It seems so hopeless and in that, it's beauty lies because does anyone really ever fill the void? Should they?
Very well said, Miss!!. This song is really "hurting", because it speaks the truth. Coming to terms that this person can't basically be replaced but hating the fact that he/she won't take you back. So heavy... :(

this is one of the only songs that stuck out at me from this CD of Darren's. I think its an incredibly powerful song and it's so bad that not more people in the world get to hear all of his music. I think it's just like he's missing something in his life, and he is wondering if anything will ever fill the empty space. It's got like a real sense of urgency. LOVE IT. -hayles-

The Tension and the Spark was a very depressing album but it produced stunners like this!
