It's possible that the worst
Of the inside
Could take our pencils away
End creating
Can't let the teachers lay waste
Of a new mind
Prevent emotional drought
And watch the pace quicken
Try to never touch
Try to never touch
Won't keep holding back my conscious
Realize
There's a choice to not end up like you
Not end up like you
Let's turn our wretched debates into action
By diplomacy gain, back a handshake
Tied and unable to tend, to the wounds that were made
So much closer to shame we see but never touch
Search
For
Truth
One more man
Tearing at the throat of
Never dropped as fast as
Coloring the fate of
Is better than the fate of you

This song is the most straight forward Chevelle song I've seen to date!

    Here's my interp:

"It's possible that the worst Of the inside Could take our pencils away End creating Can't let the teachers lay waste Of a new mind Prevent emotional drought And watch the pace quicken Try to never touch Try to never touch "

The pen is mightier then the sword. That's the first thing that came to my mind. Sometimes when we give up so much emotion to feed the vampires around us, we wane. Sometimes to the point where we cannot write or perform our art.

I see "Try not to ever touch" as you must disconnect yourself from everyone. Try not to keep the connections until you're ready. Otherwise you will be drained by the wrong people. That wrong person could be anyone, family member (difficult), friend, lover (very difficult), or anyone in between.

"Won't keep holding back my conscious Realize There's a choice to not end up like you Not end up like you"

All around we are losing the battle of emotion. People are withering up like dry wells holding evaporating water. We have a choice to cut off those dependant ties, because you know what, that person that's cold and unemotional can't live with it. So he/she's a vampire.

"One more man, Tearing at the throat of One more man, Never dropped as fast as One more man, Coloring the fate of One more man, Is better than the fate of you"

I love this part. This shows how one man can be super weak or super strong.

You must understand there are no limits in life. The limits have been broken. Too much meddling and true sin has broken the dam.

"Let's turn our wretched debates into action By diplomacy gain, back a handshake Tied and unable to tend, to the wounds that were made So much closer to shame we see but never touch never touch Try to never touch Try to never touch "

This is the sad part. The war has engulfed all of us true people as well. And now we are fighting amongst ourselves. Understand that the truth is about possiblities, not about differences.

    "Search For Truth"

    What they said.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
