I looooove Chevelle!! I agree that this song is about him wanting to write his own music but having the producers changing everything, but of course that's just how I see it.
I hate how everybody on here's saying how theirs are the only true explanations. I believe that while any songwriter, Chevelle included, has his/her own ideas when they write music, it's meant to be interpreted differently by anyone who hears it. What Songmeanings is for is to offer suggestions to people, any of which they can cling to and say "wow, that makes a lot of sense!".
