In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins cover) Lyrics
Chorus:
I can feel it coming in the air tonight
Oh, Lord
And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life
Oh, Lord
Oh, Lord
Well if you told me you were drowning
I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before, my friend
But I don't know if you know who I am
Well I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off the grin
I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies
Repeat Chorus
Well I remember
I remember don't worry
How could I ever forget?
It's the first time
The last time we ever met
But I know the reason why you keep me silenced up
No, you don't fool me
'Cause the hurt doesn't show
But the pain still grows
It's no stranger to you and me
Repeat Chorus (3x)
I can feel it coming in the air tonight
Oh, Lord
And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life
Oh, Lord
Oh, Lord
I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before, my friend
But I don't know if you know who I am
Well I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off the grin
I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies
I remember don't worry
How could I ever forget?
It's the first time
The last time we ever met
But I know the reason why you keep me silenced up
No, you don't fool me
'Cause the hurt doesn't show
But the pain still grows
It's no stranger to you and me

Wow this is an amazing cover. Nonpoint is a great band, personally I think Development is their best CD. If you go to their website at nonpoint.com you can hear some other stuff if you like this.
Hmm... you guys know that Phil Collins wrote this, because he witnessed a girl drown, right? It's a kick ass song, but it's supposed to be depressing and not rock/tribal like they make it sound.
actually, those are rumors. try googling it. its even on snopes (check out all the variations)

and yes this cover kicks major ass.
James W. is correct about this. The drowning story and the murder story, while entertaining, are both complete urban legends. Phil Collins said on many times that this song was about how much hurt he was going through during his split with his first wife. No idea on what she did but as you can tell by the lyrics it wasnt pleasant.
Cover isnt bad but i still like the original more since it sounds much more haunting than this one. An interesting fact is that this song's original version was used on the Miami Vice t.v. show while this cover is used on the movie's soundtrack.
Uh i said Development but I meant Statement
A great cover. I like it more then Phil Collins version.
i <3 this cover, it's amazing...
great cover. great song.
This song is awesome. The first time I heard it, i ran to the store to buy the CD and jam out. This is a tight ass cover.
I absolutely love this.. its very eerie, haunting, and I can just feel a sense of forboding from it.. i LOVE it!
