To me, ELIAS is taking all the things we hear people say every day, and saying that their all bullshit! People hurt you, and say they won't do it again, but they do! People say that we're all treated equal, but we aren't! People say that they'll find those who hurt us, and they'll serve up justice, but they don't!! Great song, with great lyrics, and all true! I can say that from personal experience! And the chorus is just saying, irregardless of what you tell me, I'm gonna do it anyway! I guess he's saying he's bruised and bleeding (black & blue & red) from the way people treat him, and whatever it is he's "done," he would have done it even if he knew the things people told him were lies.
As in, he's done something in retaliation to the words of comfort people give him, but now he realizes they were lies; he still would have done it.
