I think that this song is about a person who is thinking of taking a drug to escape their problems and get high...tho it could also be talking about a person taking a pill to take their life, the chorus is telling the person that they can't give up and must keep going because they have accomplished too much to lose it all by their own hand.
i've always seen the pill as metaphorical and it being about commiting suicide.
is there one pill that could kill you i wonder?

i love this song. so beautiful. aaron's voice in it is a tad scary though. i remember the first time i was listening to that song. i was freaked!
i like this song a lot, except for the speaking parts. I don't see why the song needed them!
