Somebody Out There Lyrics

Well the scene begins, a little girl is crying
And the light in the hallway is dim
And the sits right back, thinks of the reason
Why nothing will fall into place
She gets more and more couage with every day
More furious in every way
And she screams out loud,
"Why's it happening to me?"
And the answer is "It's meant to be"...

[CHORUS:]
Well she's on her knees
And begging please
She wonders if there's somebody out there
To make things wrong
To make things right
It might be
That there's somebody out there

She moves amongst the crowd,
The people they walk by
She questions why they'll have to die
If it's part of our lives,
So beautiful and precious
She knows that she shouldn't be afraid
Of all this...

[CHORUS]

There's times that she hates you
There's times that she thanks you
And hope that you might understand
It gets hard down here
So many things to fear
But it's all just a sign that you're near...

[CHORUS]

I don't believe no one has commented on this song yet...it's such a great song!!! It's about not understanding why things happen. Trying to understand why everything happens and for what reason.

As part The Calling's street team, I get information on the meanings of songs from the songwriter and I can tell you that this song is based of the real life experiences of one of the songwriters about when they were little, they were sexually abused.

This song is very great and i think that there are some things in the next that everyone knows i mean that everyone asks theirselves sometimes the question Why is it happening to me and and everyone has sometimes a time that things just get very hard and their are so many things to fear at that moment well because of that i like the calling because in their songs their are always things that happens to everybody are almost everybody so i hope that they keep making music like this because they really rock :-)

yeah it was alex who was molested when he was a kid by a 16 year old kid down the road. it went on for like 2 years i think. read it on debbie (calling mom)'s site. like chester bennington from linkin park. i find it really sad.

the song seems very religious to me. normally i don't like that but it's an awesome song!

Up til recently, I thought this was about a kid who's having a really rough time - being abused never occured to me, but I guess that fits - and is starting wonder what she did to deserve it and if anyone'll help her. And it's affecting how she thinks about other people too - the questioning why people have to die bit.

It could also be someone thinking about religion - probably because something bad's happened and they've lost faith. They wonder if there is a god, and if there is, why's he so useless when it comes to helping them? They sort of alternate between believing and not believing, and they really want to believe all the time so they can just not worry about it or be afraid anymore.

Awesome song! If it's true about one of the songwriters being abused when they were younger, that's really sad, too.
