Ok, it's obviously written from the perspective of a stalker/predator and shares several similarities with Prosthetics. Most of the lyrics point to this conclusion. The lyrics specifically talking about disease ("this is the virus of life") seems to be about the predator's "sickness" or disturbing behavior being linked with his very existence and identity. He's alive, and thus he's a sick human being. The two are inseparable. He can't be cured...
this song is about a virus creeping up on someone and slowly and paitently killing them. this is probably one of my favorite slipknot songs the beat and stuff is so perfect.

i dont really know what the songs about but it draws me in toit and when i hear it i just want to scream! so loud. it drives my crazy and i love that feeling. i just wanna go insan but i cant i can see why people think its about a killer, love, or rape. but no matter what its really about i will love the song no matter what it let me feel something i never feel .it makes me feel happy

Think of this song as if it is through the eyes of an emotion, like love. Love is the virus of life. It can see you but you can't see it. No matter what you say or do to escape it, it lives. Lover-Set my symptom free means that someone needs to be there to set the love into motion. Love is a bitch.
