Angel With The Scabbed Wings Lyrics
He is the angel with the scabbed wings
Hard-drug face
Want to powder his nose
He will deflower the freshest crop
Dry up all the wombs with his rock and roll sores
Rock and roll sores
Rock and roll sores
Dead is what he is
He does what he pleases
The things that he has
You'll never want to see
What you're never gonna be now
Sketch a little keyhole
For looking-glass people
You don't want to see him
You only want to be him
Mommy's got a scarecrow
Gotta let the corn grow
Man can't always reap what he sows
He is the maker
He is the taker
He is the savior
He is the raper
Dead is what he is
He does what he pleases
The things that he has
You'll never gonna see
What you're never gonna be now
Sketch a little keyhole
For looking-glass people
You don't want to see him
You only want to be him
Mommy's got a scarecrow
Gotta let the corn grow
Man can't always reap what he sows
He is the maker
He is the taker
He is the savior
He is the raper
Get back you're never gonna leave him
Get back you're always gonna please him
Get back you're never gonna leave him
Get back you're always gonna please him
He is the angel with the scabbed wings
Hard-drug face
Want to powder his nose
He will deflower the freshest crop
Dry up all the wombs with his rock and roll sores
Rock and roll sores
Rock and roll sores
Rock and roll sores
Rock and roll sores
Rock and roll sores

This is very obvious if you read the lyrics. It is about Himself as the Anti-christ. In the first verse he describes a drug using rock-star and referring to him as a grotesque angel. That is Manson's persona.
The second verse describes a person who disturbs the general public who are both horrified by him and also simultaneously fascinated by him because he doesn't follow society rules of normality and is thus special. It also says that it is society itself who created him. Which makes sense because everything about his persona is a response to society's rules. The clothes the make-up, the grotesque imagery, its all a rebellion against what is considered normal.
The chorus just makes it so obvious because it describes a dark messiah or Anti-Christ
The last verse describes a victim/abuser relationship. Society's relationship with the Anti-Christ would have to be like an abusive husband who wont let his wife leave him. Once again it is the grotesque version of a relationship
to me this song is about the duality of man the chorus he is the maker he is the taker he is the savior he is the taker is how man meaning god is good and pure but how man was created by god and man has two sides the good side and then the taker the rapper is the devil it reflects the darker side how everything that society deems evil wrong are what makes man it is in our nature
I feel like part of this song is a warning.. it's a warning that you're never going to please the self-destructive part of yourself or that voice that is calling you to make bad mistakes.. Learn, grow, move on! Get back you're never going to please him!
I thnk this song is about posers
hmm...i always thought it was about junkies....since he wants to powder his nose and stuff...i dunno
demons dancing in the dark In darkness the need for our eyes is removed and we find perception through other means. Demons live through us and by us. We cannot fathom their perception and therefore cannot manipulate said demons. We can only take from them by living our lives as a mockery to they're lack of life. So because of their jealousy toward humans they wish to distroy whatever they are allowed, be it new life (wombs) or crops, etc... We try to defend ourselves against what we believe is harmful, but in the end humanity must be balanced out. Therefore suffering allows us to be balanced in a way that benefits us. We need them but we don't want to see them or our need for them.
This song can have many different meanings, any song can. OKAY...
Dead is what he is- Mansons view of god
He does what he please- because he is god he can do harsh things, or great things
NOW RIGHT HERE THE LYRICS COULD CHANGE INTO 2 DIFFERENT SENTENCES
...EITHER...
...OR...
Sketch a little keyhole, for the looking glass people- AKA the christians or others who are religious, they will always look at us, and behind their judging, they will always wish to have freedom that we do, (non-believers), so being the kind god he is, he gives them temptation to sin, - He sketches a keyhole so they can see our life
Mommys gotta scarecrow, gotta let the corn grow- in order for you to have corn, you obviously gotta have a scarecrow, AKA in order for you to do anything in life, other helpful things, have to take place first
man can't always reap what he sows- but sometimes when you do things as you were taught, you can't take them away, AKA you can't take back your religion when you die, or also you can't take back the misktakes you made by believing in something, that was never true to begin with
He is a maker, ONLY WHAT RELIGIOUS PEOPLE WANT TO BELIEVE
He is a taker, THE REALITY
He is a savior, ONLY WHAT THEY WANT TO BELIEVE
He is a rapper, THE REALITY
-Taz-
Also this album tells a story, and this song very-well might be about a rockstar... but I like to look at songs from very different angles
I really wonder what the ppl who listen to pop and hip hop and emo music discuss.... honestly. their songs are so straight forward! thats why I love manson so much hes always using metophors makes me think you kno?
Yes, personalchaos, I do realize that I sterotyped them. My fault. >.< Though it seems that the one who really are devoted to their religion, are the first to bash. But I do realize that there are some pretty open minded religious people. Thumbs up for them.
guys the angel with the scabbed wings is marilyn himself if u read his book he wld like to be known as the person who put an end to christianity n marilyn will deflower the freshest crop that means he will ruin everything thats good n everything else is a description of him he is the savior he is the maker he is the taker meaning he is gna take christianity he is gna save ppl from christianity he is gna be the maker of a new religion
