This song is amazing to me. It's really changed the way I want my life to go. To me this song is about doing something that's going to make your' life eternal. When LaJon says "Tattoo the world, change everything," that's like him telling me to get up off my ass and leave a mark on this world so I will be remembered when I'm gone. Do something that will make a difference.

He's stating that everything he has done was for in vain, for he has died and now surrounded by the sinners. He's saying that even though he has done all these things to find an answer to a question, he found himself in a place he doesn't want to be.

Destroying all you see means to stop the wars, stop the anger, and stop all the suffering. This is all 'you' see. Tatooing the world obviously means to leave your mark on the world in its history.

He wonders if he cares if the world changes. 'Simple Plan is broken every time it's given' means that even though he makes all these plans that sound simple, these plans screw up everytime he tries to do something. The last part means that he needs motivation from love and trust, instead of the hate and anger.

I think the summary of this song is to change the world, and if you can't, at least leave your mark.

I love the Intro and how it starts off this song as well as the whole album:

"Yeah, Hold on, Hold on, here we go (bursts out laughing)...Ok...NOW!!!"

and then the music hits you hard. I think this song would be easy to misinterpret from a Conservative mindset... "Destroy all you see?" "Tattoo the world?" lol Some would find the expression in the lyrics questionable, But If your listening to what it's saying though, its a very positive message. it took my long enough to give this album a chance after "Home" and "Animosity" but as soon as I did, I immediately liked it. I was impressed that they started the album with an Anthem like this... Its no coincidence these guys are together, this is a VERY talented group!
