Take It Outside Lyrics
Oh, I - I watch it all go down
Closed eyes - pretend noone's around
So I - I chose to play the clown
Or blow by and never make a sound
CHORUS:
Any other guy would wanna take it outside
But I'd never even try - who wants to get their lights knocked out?
Any other guy would wanna stir it up some,
But I'd rather say goodbye
Turn 'round - say it to my face
No sound - Everything's a race
Lose ground - lost in your embrace
Leave town - never leave a trace
CHORUS
Hardly know what anything's for
Just for show, I'm slamming the door
Even so, my heart and my head are an open book
CHORUS x2
I'd rather say goodbye
Closed eyes - pretend noone's around
So I - I chose to play the clown
Or blow by and never make a sound
Any other guy would wanna take it outside
But I'd never even try - who wants to get their lights knocked out?
Any other guy would wanna stir it up some,
But I'd rather say goodbye
No sound - Everything's a race
Lose ground - lost in your embrace
Leave town - never leave a trace
Just for show, I'm slamming the door
Even so, my heart and my head are an open book

Yes, it's "Everything's erased."
This is basically the most underrated song in the history of ever.
The slide guitar in this song is SEX.
How can this have only one comment? This song is really heartfelt - it's about a guy who isn't prepared to fight for things, he'd rather take it and not make a scene. He lets the word roll over him without a word.
I agree, this song is GREAT how can it NOT have like 2 billion comments and it's been over a year since someone commented. I'm pretty much posting this for myself!! Come on people! Okay I think that this song is just about how people ignore problems and pretend that they're not there. When he says, "Oh, I - I watch it all go down. Closed eyes - pretend no one's around" I think that it means he sees someone being hurt physically (or emotionally) but he doesn't say or do anything because he himself does not want to get too involved and ends up being the victim. This song to me is pretty much about how selfish America is. We're not willing to help others out because we don't want to take time out of our day or end up being injured. IDK it's just what I think about it!!
I agree with Lukasa. His interpretation is pretty much my life story. Also, I'm pretty sure the second line of the second verse is "Everything's erased", not "Everything's a race". Unfortunately, I don't have the liner notes handy, so I can't be sure.
