In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

It seems they are both unhappy in the relationship, she gives him no respect "considered a breakfast food?" the most important element ina relationship, and in turn he is finding it hard to care about her at all, he doesn't bother lying to be nice, or protect her from the truth anymore, and he is in a bad mood all the time. He is saying he was "axious to bust nuts" and jumped into a relationship with someone he can't love, and now he is trying to push her away.

The opening line tries to explain this one. Hes describing being in a prayer then a meditation to reiterate what he hears from the prayer. I may sound complex about it but this song means a lot to me. Think Criss Angel or something
