For what you did to me
And what I'll do to you
You get, what everyone else gets
You get a lifetime

Let's go
Do you remember that day when we met
You told me this gets harder
Well it did
Been holding on forever
Promise me that when I'm gone you'll kill my enemies
The damage you've inflicted, temporary wounds
I'm coming back from the dead and I'll take you home with me
I'm taking back the life you stole

We never got that far
This helps me to think all through the night
Bright lights that won't kill me now, or tell me how
Just you and I, your starless eyes remain

Hip hip hooray for me, you talk to me, but would you kill me in my sleep
Lay still like the dead
From the razor to the rosary
We could lose ourselves
And paint these walls in pitchfork red

I will avenge my ghost with every breath I take
I'm coming back from the dead and I'll take you home with me
I'm taking back the life you stole

This hole you put me in
Wasn't deep enough
And I'm climbing out right now
You're running out of places to hide from me
When you go
Just know that I will remember you
If living was the hardest part
We'll then one day be together
And in the end we'll fall apart
Just like the leaves change in colors
And then I will be with you
I will be there one last time now

When you go
Just know that I will remember you

I lost my fear of falling
I will be with you
I will be with you

Dunno about the lines: "for what you did to me... blahblah".

But I'm pretty sure this is about backstabbers. Y'know, the ones who become friends with you just to catch you off-guard, then tear you down.

This is like the song for the backstabbed. =p

"Do you remember back when we met you told me this gets harder Well it did Been holding on forever promise me that when i'm gone you'll kill my enemies"

I think this talks about the part when they're just signing-up their "frendship treaties". The backstabber offers his shoulder to the guy saying, "Life's a bitch. Let's back each other up, okay? smile+wink". Then he eventually proves that... in a harsh way. He's the one who gave his friend the taste of life's bitchy-ness WHILE the friend innocently backs him up.

"The damage you've inflicted temporary wounds i'm coming back from the dead and i'll take you home with me i'm taking back the life you stole"

The betrayed's vengence-howl. I think the lines, "i'll take you home with me", since he's sort of dead, his home is the underworld or something like hell, means that he will pull this backstabber down to hell. "I'm taking back the life you stole" somewhat means that with his revenge, he's ending the betrayer's life, while re-earning his own (he gets the pleasure of seeing that guy in pain).

"We never got that far this helps me to think all through the night bright lights that won't kill me now or tell me how just you and i your starless eyes remain"

They never got that close anyways, so it won't hurt him that much eventhough he once was his friend. Cheesy things that remind him about how good and sweet that friend WAS and COULD BE, I think, are the "bright lights" that won't affect him anymore and won't soften his heart to lighten the punishment out of mercy. I think "starless eyes" means "blank expression" or something such, that won't make you pitty him, and might even worsen his anger because it seems like it's no big deal to the betrayer that he hurt him.

"Hip hip hooray for me you talk to me but would you kill me in my sleep lay still like the dead from the razor to the rosary we could lose ourselves and paint these walls in pitchfork red"

These are the deepest lines that couldn't get in one sitting. I think "pitchfork red" is the color of blood, which they will spill on the walls while stabbing each other. I don't know. I'll deal with that later on.

"I will avenge my ghost with every breath i take i'm coming back from the dead and i'll take you home with me i'm taking back the life you stole"

Again, the vengence-howl of the betrayed-one.

"This hole you put me in wasn't deep enough and i'm climbing out right now you're running out of places to hide from me"

It's like the batrayed had stood back up, because the damaged dealt wasn't enough to kill him. It's payback time!

"When you go just know that i will remember you if living was the hardest part we'll then one day be together

And in the end we'll fall apart just as the leaves change in color and then i will be with you i will be there one last time now"

The betrayer, sarcastically, trying to pay him back for the friendship. "Life's a bitch, eh? Okay friend, I'll put you to eternal rest so you won't hurt anymore. And from six-feet below the ground shall we be bonded together. I will never forget you, my friend! evil laugh".

"i've lost my fear of falling i will be with you, i will be with you"

He doesn't anymore care even if he stays down. All that matters is that he shall pull him down there, where he also is. They'll be burning there together, but the regret is on the betrayer. He shouldn't have messed with him. evil laugh

    =p

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
