Surfing on a Rocket Lyrics

Time for flying rockets
For silver jets
For surfing bombs

Surfing on a rocket (x8)

Don't, don't pray to go
Please take my hand
Don't get me down

Surfing on a rocket (x8)

I'll be back one day
Just pray for me
I'm on my way

Surfing on a rocket (x8)

5 4 3 2 1 0
No one can stop me to go
You'll never see me again (x3)

No it's not about sex. The girls riding on the rocket in the music video are just symbols of sex and sex is just symbol of modern day society. Just like the TV man, the smokestack men, and the priest. They are all different symbols like the media, business, religion, and money. Besides, if not obviously enough already, sex is being mocked in the music video as the girl gets dumped with tar and feathers in the end.

It might not matter though because a lot of the time music videos have nothing to do with the song anyway. I think this song is just about running away and the rocket is just a metaphor as to how fast and far the singer wants to go. Although if the music video did have anything to do with the song it would be, in my opinion, about how fast society is riding to it's destruction and the nuclear bomb or rocket is a symbol of how people destroy each other and themselves.

And on the other hand this song could be about completely nothing and just a fantasy about riding on a rocket. I think I like that explanation the best.

Call me crazy, but I feel that it's about going to war and kissing a loved one goodbye.

Yeap D4MVP , I have the same feeling. Or it's just about a goodbye kiss for some reason. Seems that love will last forever.

And besides this song seems so sad to me, it's so calm and gorgeous.

This seems very Dr. Strangelove, or Cold War-esque. Silver Jets? Flying Rockets? Surfing Bombs? Surfing bombs just recalls that scene from "How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" Where Major Guano releases the Bomb and rides it on to the Soviet missile site effectively dooming the world. I think though that this song portrays a bomber pilot who has been called to duty in nuclear war. He's saying goodbye to his love. He asks her not to be sad, dont make this worse than it is, just appreciate me while Im here, as...this is it. He tries to reassure her that he'll be back. He asks for her prayers and leaves to his plane. The rockets are flying, cities burning in thermonuclear heat as he throttles up and gets airborne. The mission is in full swing, unstoppable, and yet he thinks of his love who he will never see again.echnician and the ICBM its self

What I get from this is being with someone you really like and the realization it's not going to last forever. Surfing on a rocket is a metaphor for the great high from being together.

The last line is my favorite part of the song. The music stopping and the frank statement of never seeing them again.

someone I like gave me this song. Your insight makes me really saaad. Hahahahah

I really think this is about bomber-pilot/kamikazee... especially during the lines of "surfing on a rocket" in the background, it kind of sounds like the alarm for a Nuclear Bomb test...

I know this sounds cliche, but could it be about shooting up heroin? I have a friend who used to be a heroin addict and he said the moment the poison hit the blood, it felt like he was shot up into the sky like a rocket.

Another thing is, the chorus sounds kind of like the narrator feels altogether confident, like no one can stop him now, he has complete control over his ability.

I dunno, maybe I'm way off?

This is a new song i heard from the Saturn commercial actually, but i love it. I think its about show business and fame. I think its about a famous person trying not to change in Hollywood.

This song is very flowy. And I'm not sure what it's about.
