All I Need Lyrics
To get behind this sun and cast my weight
All I need's a peace of this mind
Then I can celebrate
All in all there's something to do
All in all there's something live
With you...
To get behind this sun and cast this weight of mine
And there I'll celebrate
All in all there's something to do
All in all there's something live
With you...

Air could sing about a root canal or an income tax return and make it mesmerising and beautiful. Their aesthetics reach areas in the stratosphere untouched by others. What makes these lyrics so special is the way they are so elegantly sung over the cool, peaceful decadence of the music. Almost like a whisper, but just slightly more persuasive. The experience is something like taking a bite out of a cool, crisp dark-chocolate-covered strawberry and letting it melt slowly in your mouth. These guys are some of the best in the business today.

A very emotional song indeed. The melody, lyrics, the singers voice just gel so well it's like cool, well...Air.
The vibe I always get from this song is that the singer is searching for or perhaps just pursuing something (likely a love interest) and is becoming exhausted. Not in an exasperated 'I'm sick of it' kind of way, but just supremely fatigued. And is expressing that what she's after isn't complex or exorbidant ('I just need -----, that's all...") but is so vitally important that she'll keep plugging away until she gets it. Not in an aggressive way, just a perisistant, enduring, perhaps even loyal way, with a gentle strength well communicated in the musics powerful yet soft lilt.
Probably my views on it are skewed by the fact that I first heard this song at a time when I was searching for something as well (didn't realize how close I was to finding it). But that's what it says to me. Dynamite song in any case. Who actually sings it ?

i've never understood what does the line "To get behind this sun and cast my weight" means... any ideas?
I think it might mean that he is casting the "weight" of his problems on his shoulders into the shadows, behind the sun. Meaning that all he needs is to be free of his burdens.

@jupiterisland Haha I signed up to SongMeanings just to answer your question! Personally it's clear to me it alludes to the SLINGSHOT manoeuvre -the song is about freeing oneself from a burden/ berievement/ 'basel' lifestyle by mentally allowing lifting /floating to a much higher plane -thereby 'casting the weight' of the previous limiting lifestyle.

i think this song is about waiting for that perfect love.and not putting yourself out there and kind holding back until you find someone who appreciates you for everything you are and sees things in you that no one else does.

It sounds like she is looking for love, a very specific kind of love, the kind of love that is written in the start and there is nothing one can do to avoid it. It is like the relationship between the moon and the sun.

This song is absoulutely gorgeous, the entire cd "moon safari" is just out of this world (well i guess it's meant to be)... It's amazing how these French lads are able to create such an album that makes you feel like you are literally on a moon safari!

I believe the words between verses and at the end are "I'm Away".
Beautiful song & an amazing video, makes me wish I'd have taken up skateboarding!!

moon safari is a wonderful, mind-boggling album.

Well there isn't much to say about the lyrics, it's dead obvious what the song is about. Still a marvelous mesmerizing track though,I should get the rest of the album...

this is such a pretty song, it really lets you just melt and thoughts flow by themselves. my chill out track
