The Way Lyrics
Winter comes and snow
I can't marry you, you know
Without children to grow
I can't marry you, you know
Love me the way I love you
Love me the way I love you
Take a year in your hand
You can find another man
Let your unloved parts get loved
And I will be your man
Love me the way I love you
Love me the way I love you
Places you should be afraid
Into the river we will wade
Love me the way I love you
Love me the way I love you
I can't marry you, you know
Without children to grow
I can't marry you, you know
Love me the way I love you
You can find another man
Let your unloved parts get loved
And I will be your man
Love me the way I love you
Into the river we will wade
Love me the way I love you

nice sunday morning song.
I don't know what this song is about besides the obvious, but I love it. It sets my soul to rest.
I think it is about a man who is infertile but in love with a woman. He loves her but he doesn't feel he can marry her, perhaps because she feels that without children she won't be happy.: 'I can't marry you: without children to grow'

He is telling her to go off and find a man to impregnate her: 'love her unloved parts'.... so that she can come back and then he will marry her: 'I will be your man'

It would have been a very untraditional thing to do in the past so perhaps it might seem scary:...

But they are doing it together and making a commitment to carry out this plan together: 'Into the river we will wade'
Once it is all done she will be able to come back and love him like he loves her: very unselfishly and pure.
I love the chorus, such a romantic song :)
In another version of it it says 'without you winter grows' which makes me think of a different scenario....but I am not sure what...
