Simple Design

this song is the shit, every which way possiable, you can't help but jump up and down when it comes on... anyways i think this song is about ego getting in the way of a good relationship. the 'simple design' is just opeing up and giving, being easier said than done. the part "you must be out of your mind..." i think is directed at the self. the singer is maybe kicking him self for fucking up with a girl, or something. kind of that inner monologe you have when you beat yourself up over a mistake. i see it as the girl just wanting to be in an equal relationship but not getting back what she is given. i think the author is torn between wanting to open up or stay closed off. the breakdown part, is kind of like the singer realizing his opprotunity has passed and just abandoning the endevor all together. i view the part " i'm living it up, while i'm falling from grace" is the reason things got sour. maybe the author is to busy having fun to commit to someone else.

Yeah at first this song was a little cryptic to me. Cyanide and Downward Spiral, your interpretations helped.

I do see it as his career or his passion sounds more fitting is his life and his thing right now.

She just wants a simple life and he has a different calling basically.

This stanza explained most of it:

"Cause I know what you want but you’ll just have to wait if I had it to give I would give it away I'm livin' it up while I’m fallin' from grace there’s no way, there’s no way that I’m running away"

I see "while I'm fallin' from grace" if I would take it one step further (since I'm feeling adventurous LOL), would be talking about his time on Earth. Or even perhaps just his time to go out and explore and sin. So while he's "livin' it up" she wants him to live for her.

Also this song looks like its dialogue broken between him and his ex-lover. This stanza seems to come from his lover (and all the other "you left me behind" parts):

"you had to be the worst for me I don’t know what to say, so let me be and now I find you've left me behind I don’t know what to say, so nevermind!

You're mine! "

well im not 100% sure but my opinion is that its about an ex g/f that kept screwing up thier relationship which was suppose to be a simple design, he keeps saying "its alright" that things arent working but eventually the relationship fails and he doesnt know what to do now.

"Simple Design" is another musical product of the Ben/Brianna relationship.

"I live a chemical life" -Ben is a drinker

"You want a simpler life, you can't erase what was mine" -She's tired of all the chaos that comes with his music career, but he's not ready to give it up.

"I know what you want, but you'll just have to wait" -He somewhat sympathizes with her needs but his music too important to him

"I'm living it up while I'm falling from grace" -Things are going great for him and the band while their relationship suffers.

"There's no way, there's no way that I'm running away" -He's not going to give it up yet, even for her.

That is my general interpretation of the song.

I think this song is about a guy who just loves to party, but his girlfriend or a girl that really likes him just wants to settle down and just have him love her and only her, but hes young, and he just wants to have a good time, hookups, and 'live it up, while falling from grace'

He's using her, just like he's using all the other women in his life. She learned of his promiscuity, and went ballistic. Still, he wants her.

i think this song is about him haveing to go on tour and his girlfriend got mad because he had to leave her behind. and he's saying that is music carear is more important to him.and they fought and he realived that she didn't love him she just loved his money. but he didn't care about the money at all

this one is pretty deep in a lot of ways from what I see. Im a pretty new BB fan so forgive me if im totally off, but things are often simple and we make the hard and fuck them up. WTF mate? I get that all the time. What the hell is the matter with you? What the hell is the matter with me? Why does it all have to be so hard?

Im living it up while im falling from grace theres no way, no way that im running away. - So yeah, im having a good time, im fucking it up - I know im doing it, but im not gonna stop. let me fall from your good graces, the good graces of the public, the good graces of god ... i'll get back up and keep walking on cause im not running away no matter what I do, no matter what happens.
