Not too sure what it means, but lets all post on this song because this is the correct one, not the other.
To me, it almost sounds like someone is crippled in some way (If you could use your hands, what would you use them for) Maybe the person singing got them physically hurt in someway (car accident or something) and he feels guilty for it.
After the person is out of the hospital, he/she is forced to have to use a wheelchair because of the injuries (The fact that they don't care, while they stop and stare, while they put you in that dusty, dirty chair.
That's the vibe I get, I dunno. I'm just trying to think outside the usual "This song is about LOVE!" box. Not that there's anything wrong with that, Love is very important, and is a very special, yet common subject matter that EVERYONE can relate to.

imo this song is about loving someone but socially it not being acceptable, and so you in one way or another are bad to them
the author regrets it though, cuz it hurts him, and he wishes he knew how the other person felt, and is waiting for them to cross the boundary...
i almost feel like i might puke now because i feel like such a jerk after what ive done. i dont think the girl likes me back but im 100% sure she wants me to do something at least.
In my own interpretation. It sounds like its very apologetic and reflective. I think maybe that it's about emotional repression. Like the person that the vocalist is singing about has a repressed hatred or guilt towards them and they are trying to get through whatever repressive emotion, and the singer does not want to suffer so hed rather carry it for them instead of being in a constant battle with them and their triggers. Idk just how i see it.
