I'm not a poet
And I know it
It is no deep secret tossing inside me
I have no timing I can't form my feelings
Sometimes I rhyme sometimes I don't
So go ahead take a look in my kitchen
Take a look at the Woodgrain there
What's it for that hardwood floor is where I'm walking and thinkin'
Walking and thinkin' about you
And I know it
It is no deep secret tossing inside me
I have no timing I can't form my feelings
Sometimes I rhyme sometimes I don't
So go ahead take a look in my kitchen
Take a look at the Woodgrain there
What's it for that hardwood floor is where I'm walking and thinkin'
Walking and thinkin' about you

This song is irony. It is irreverant, to a degree. I feel like the woodgrain represents something real, static, and natural.
I don't think he's being ironic or irreverent; I think he's just saying that wanting this person has worn him out and he's run out of eloquent or charming things to say, but he still wants her to know he's thinking about her.
