Ok..is this song about getting into a car accident?..I can't figure it out...someone please help..it's bugging me so bad!

Ryan explained that it's about a drinking & driving incident that happened to a friend of his.
This is such a good song. I love it. And I was always wondering what it was about...and now it makes sense. The whole "drinking and driving incident" really does fit. Kinda sad tho.

The car crash thing does make sense, but writing a song about a car crash would be silly. I think there's a deeper meaning. For me, it seems to be about realizing that youth does not last and that we need to make the most of our lives in the present. Also, the lines about "I'm scared" is a common sentiment among those who realize that they can't keep living as they have been. Very sad, tragic song. Damn him for having depressing lyrics with such great music!
This song seems to tell the story of how he has a girl that he is falling for....but....for whatever reason things aren't working out and they are taking a break...he realizes he has fallen for this girl and now doesnt know what to do...he trys to keep her hanging on but is realizing slowly that he must move on...
It is about his friend that died in a car accident...so he said a long time ago I believe at least. But I don't know if he was involved in the accident as well or what not...the lyrics almost make it seem like he was.
