Karl Blau Lyrics
blue moon
waded out past the waves swells
where we all floated helpless
and he told us to stop treading water
he sang about the sand
where we could all touch our feet down
he held out his hand
with his tipped back he sang loud
but we didn't listen, he swam off alone
long live his words, all caught up on his own
he said "someday the moon will reach out to the sun
but for now it must drift along, but for now he drifts along"
waded out past the waves swells
where we all floated helpless
and he told us to stop treading water
he sang about the sand
where we could all touch our feet down
he held out his hand
with his tipped back he sang loud
but we didn't listen, he swam off alone
long live his words, all caught up on his own
he said "someday the moon will reach out to the sun
but for now it must drift along, but for now he drifts along"

karl blau is another singer/songwriter that is friends with phil. just quotes from him.
Karl Blau is another musician and a good friend of Phils. This is a fun simple (but beautiful) song with little tints of nostalgia here and there. Phil recalls things Karl has shared with him as he stares off into the endless sea. I love its beach boys vibes!
I really, really like this song. It's one of my favorite Microphones songs. It sounds pretty.
"This song is about the existance of God. Even if it is irrational, he says put faith in god. Give up battling and you will win."
I don't see it as that at all.
I don't see it like that that either. I think it's beautiful...
