this song has a saves the day kind of feel to it. beautiful none the less.
good stuff. i think it's about how he's been changing himself to fit in with the "crowd" he wants, then realizes what he's done and hates himself for it.

everything will be better if he just leaves the girl, but the she won't let him cause she's holding on to him. she's too good for him, or so he thinks. and he treats her like shit, but she holds on, and problems arise in the relationship, but she's to dumb to notice
i dont reallyknow how you figure its about a girl, i think its about himself and being depressed. it seems like hes been goin this whole time, just trying to make everything ok, and trying to make it SEEM like everything was ok. covering up how he really feel, tryin to seem normal, but not he hates himself soo much, that he wants to make the pain last, "i don't deserve such and easy exit" he wants to tear off the layer of himself that he put up as a front to make it seem like he was ok. but now he feels it is too late to get himself back, and he wants to kill himself, and he feels it will be better for everyone... maybe i duno
i think it's about suicide-DUH! it's saying how suicide will fix everything and how he wants to change himself but thinks it's too late. Hence the name of the song HOW TO FIX EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! and "If I try to climb again, this time the fall is FATAL"
You guys dont think this song has something to do with letting another girl in this life, after a messy breakup, now there is another person that he is ready to take the layers off form, but he has to be careful because he is messed up on the inside...
he's been pretending to be this other person for so long that nobody knows who he really is. he hurts himself because he wants people to know how fucked up he really is. but at the same time, he wants to go back to being who they expect him to be. he wants to be on the pedestal, but he knows it'll kill him if he does. he doesn't know if he can fix everything, or if he's just too deep in his own shit to ever get better again.
The song deals deeply with self-inflicted pain, obviously. This band isn't really known for subliminal messages through lyrics, so I assume it's pretty straight forward.
This dude wants out. He's buried in the repulsive image he sees of himself. The 'how to fix everything' is basically sarcasm, just a little laugh before he ends it all.
