Black Heart Romance Lyrics
You're mine when you're bleeding
Divine to the end
Bid adieu to your breathing
No more pretence
I will witness your leaving
With tears in my eyes
But not for your sleeping
Just when you arise
The girl you take in you
Will now cease to be
And the woman within you
At last can be free
Passions and crime. Your lover and mine
Deep came the need. And sweet was her bleed
Through purity and through light
And the grace of the night
We sing and we dance
To our black heart romance
Hair fall of black. Eyes don't look back
Pale skin and cold. Lying in her fold
She came, she saw, she took anything she liked
My eyes burned with her horror
They fell, they screamed, they wept but they died
From hands of the abhorrer
We are hers when we are bleeding
The love that we feel
Amourous when she is feeding
My heart shen can steal
Divine to the end
Bid adieu to your breathing
No more pretence
With tears in my eyes
But not for your sleeping
Just when you arise
Will now cease to be
And the woman within you
At last can be free
Deep came the need. And sweet was her bleed
And the grace of the night
We sing and we dance
To our black heart romance
Pale skin and cold. Lying in her fold
My eyes burned with her horror
They fell, they screamed, they wept but they died
From hands of the abhorrer
The love that we feel
Amourous when she is feeding
My heart shen can steal

it could also be something sexual..... a female loosing her virginity (the bleeding). The transformation from girl to voman. yet she turn out to be nymphomaniac, a sexual predator.
Aaron said in an interview that the song is a bout Vampires. Hope this helps!
Wow...this is really deep. The lyrics rhyme really well, but when read the flow is kinda off but when you sing it you can fix all that. Normally I wouldn't lik this type of singer...but it really REALLY suits this band. I like this band a lot. It seems just like an annoying angsty-wanna-be song...but i won't say that (whoops) because i don't like when people call others wanna-bes..tehres no such thing, either you are or you aren't. You can pretend but you still are....At the beginning he's like claiming her but at the end he's giving himself up to her. Confuzzleing.
i was just wondering why this sounds like a wannabe-song? In what form? It's just that My Dying Bride pioneered or at least co-pioneered Death/Doom metal back in the early 90's and they've stuck to their music sound for most of their career.
To... MonkeysLikepeanuts (nice name lol) .... Uhm, oh I didn't know MDB was that old, I just heard of them and assumed they were a new band oh okay. lol ma bad
~Vampy
Vampires. It pretty much follows the same general storyline of the cliche vampire stories that circulate fanfiction and wannabe goth sites.
Anyway. The song isn't that confusing. Yes, at the beginning he's "claiming" her. In the middle, he's infatuated with her. At the end, he becomes disgusted with what he's created - a cold-blooded killer. But he's still infatuated with her. Such is the appeal of vampires, if you read Anne Rice books and the like. "Black heart romance" is a reference to their, well, black-hearted romance - believe it or not.
