I think this song is talking about taking ecstasy...
"You know I’m always moaning but you jump-start my serotonin." Ecstasy works by releasing serotonin from your brain.
"But when I feel like this, I know it doesn’t matter." When a person is high or rolling they usually don't have a care in the world. Nothing really matters except for being high.
"Here, have you tried the blue ones? i hear he’s got some new ones." Ecstasy come in all sorts of colors including blue and this line is probably talking about a dealer with a fresh batch of blue pills.
"Sleep is not an option tonight." Usually ectasy keeps users awake for a long time.
I agree. Its about drugs, but its also a love song about these two characters. I think the serotonin line refers to the girl he's chatting up, not the drugs. I think its about using drugs to maybe be someone else, going from this shy retirer to a more confident guy (I lost my social skills...) that decides he "wants to fall in love" and goes for it, chatting up this girl

"Here, have you tried the blue ones? i hear he’s got some new ones." is about x; blue (diamonds) are pure E. i picked that line up from the first time i heard the song, which is funny because i usually don't notice things like that.
i absolutely love this song. it is about x, but its about a fucked up relationship between two people. and drugs as an escape, to bring a different feeling to jump start serotonin. i love the way their lyrics is always very sincere and personal.
