Hold Your Hand Lyrics
Maybe I find it hard
Watching you live
Maybe I find the truth
Questions I can’t bare
Feeling so tired
I’m wondering where
Selfish love inspires
Are you there to hold my hand
Saving me who I spy
Maybe you are the rain
Who makes my eyes closed
Ocean’s grey and grey
Feeling my despair
Your happy smile is broken
I’m wondering there
Selfish love has spoken
Are you here to hold
Are you there to hold my hand
Selfish love has spoken
Saving me who I spy
Are you here to hold
Are you there to hold my hand
Selfish love has spoken
Saving me who I spy
Are you here to hold
Are you there to hold my hand
Selfish love has spoken
Saving me who I spy
Watching you live
Maybe I find the truth
Questions I can’t bare
Feeling so tired
I’m wondering where
Selfish love inspires
Are you there to hold my hand
Saving me who I spy
Who makes my eyes closed
Ocean’s grey and grey
Feeling my despair
Your happy smile is broken
I’m wondering there
Selfish love has spoken
Are you there to hold my hand
Selfish love has spoken
Saving me who I spy
Are you here to hold
Are you there to hold my hand
Selfish love has spoken
Saving me who I spy
Are you here to hold
Are you there to hold my hand
Selfish love has spoken
Saving me who I spy

I think that this song is about loss and that this girls significant other is off living his own life. She starts by confessing how hard it is to see him doing his thing, "Watching you live." Then she starts to find things out and she wants to question him but she really can't stomach the answers, Maybe I find the truth, Questions I can't bear." It's surely a sad song dealing with loss and a sarcastic question of "Are you here/there to hold my hand? The answer is no. I also think that she says, "My happy smile is broken." Which I think is the best lyric in the whole song. It seems as though no matter what happens, she cannot be happy.
"Maybe I find it hard/ Watching you live"- A girl can't stand watching the person she loves not knowing how deeply she feels for him. She can't stand how he's so carefree while she's agonizing over him. “Maybe I find the truth/ Questions I can’t bare” The girl asks herself if he could love her back. She is positive he doesn’t “I’m wondering where/ Selfish love inspires” Her love is selfish because it wouldn’t be good for either of them. She’s saying, ‘how could a love like this inspire anybody?’ “Maybe you are the rain/ Who makes my eyes closed/ Ocean’s grey and grey” Rain is life- giving, but too much causes destruction. Everywhere she looks, she sees a sea of grey “Feeling my despair/Your happy smile is broken/ I’m wondering there/ Selfish love has spoken” He notices she loves him and they both feel badly about it I think “Saving me who I spy” means that she is constantly “spying” on him, looking at him, thinking of him, and he is the one that keeps her sane, she loves him so much **“Are you here to hold/ Are you there to hold my hand?” The previous reviewer made an excellent point, that the question is a sarcastic one. He knows how she feels, but he does not feel the same and is not “there to hold” her hand, or be there for her.
