You say hello
Inside I'm screaming "I love you"
You say goodnight
In my mind I'm sleeping next to you
You drive away from my car crash of a heart
And I don't know

But you gave me the best mixtape I have
Even all the bad songs ain't so bad
I just wish there was so much more than that
About me and you

You talk to him
And it burns me like the sun
You talk to her
You say that you feel like he's the one
I talk to me
But you can't hear the pain I feel
And you don't know

'Cause you gave me the best mixtape I have
And even all the sad songs ain't so sad
I only wish that there was more than that
About me and you
About me and you

Oh, don't turn around and say bye again
Yeah, it crushes my head when you call me your friend
And I'm not the same person from back in the day
In the back of the class
That you thought was gay
No, I can't find the words 'cause I lost them the minute
They fell out of my mouth
And it's love, and I'm in it
So give me your lips
And just let me kiss them
And let's get messed up and listen to possibly

The best mixtape I have
Even all the bad songs ain't so bad
I just wish there was so much more than that
About me and you
About me and you

Basicly about him being friends with a girl and wanting more and being intensly inlove with her but her having a boyfriend and being inlove with her boyfriend.

"You say hello Inside I'm screaming "I love you" You say goodnight In my mind I'm sleeping next to you You drive away from my car crash of a heart And I don't know"

There friends, and when she see's him everytime inside he's saying he loves her but he doesnt't want her to know because he knows she wouldn't feel the same. and when they say goodnight he wanst to be with her and never wants to say goodnight, and im not sure about this part but i think that she broke his heart because she has boyfriend and he doesn't know what to do about it

"But you gave me the best mixtape I have Even all the bad songs ain't so bad I just wish there was so much more than that About me and you"

Either he told her that he loved her but she just didn't feel that way about h]im so she gave him a mixtape of their favorite songs to remember her by or she gave him a mixtape and every sad song on there is like about them but he still loves it, and he wishes they werre more then just friends.

"You talk to him And it burns me like the sun You talk to her You say that you feel like he's the one I talk to me But you can't hear the pain I feel And you don't know"

When she talks to her boyfriend and kisses him n hugs him it's killing him, and she talks to her friends about him all the time i guess, And he can't tell her he loves her so he just says it to himself over and over how he feels about her.

"Oh, don't turn around and say bye again Yeah, it crushes my head when you call me your friend And I'm not the same person from back in the day In the back of the class That you thought was gay No, I can't find the words 'cause I lost them the minute They fell out of my mouth And it's love, and I'm in it So give me your lips And just let me kiss them And let's get messed up and listen to possibly"

Oh and in this part i'm not sure but it sounds like on the song "lets get fucked up and listen to" but anyways, I guess this part he told her how he feels and she's walking off, Or he's about to tell her. And everytime she just thinks of them as friends it crushes his heart/head. And before he use to be like a geek i guess or something or she thought of him like that And while he;s telling her he's rambling on and just can't seem to tell her everything because it's hard for him to,idk,ok thats all later

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
