Thy Horror Cosmic Lyrics
No, this song doesn't have anything to do with Satan. It is about the Great Old One Cthulhu.
Elements that confirm this:
-
The Lord below is sleeping, and the cultists wish he could rise from his eternal sleep - Satan, in christian mythology, is not sleeping, he's active
-
He has beeing sleeping for vast aeons - a word frequently used by H.P. Lovecraft in his short stories
-
He stains this planet with visions of murder and hate - Cthulhu, in the short stories, drive many people all over the world insane through dreams
-
Sea soaked perversion - confirms he inhabits the ocean, unlike Satan who inhabits Hell
-
We pray for the earth to open, free you of your ageless tomb - this confirms the Lord Below inhabits the Earth physically, unlike Satan who, according to christian mythology, is in Hell, which is not a physical place on Earth. Cthulhu lies trapped in his pacific sunken city of R'lyeh
-
And last - Oh, Great Old One, I scream your return - Cthulhu is a Great Old One, perhaps the most powerful of them, he's a priest of Azathoth.
this song is epic. theres a fuckin billy and mandy episode about cthulhu haha funny shit.

this song is about the dark lord or satan coming up from hell to reign on this earth. they probably wrote it realizing that most of this world is run by the devil anyways with all the wars and prejudices and all that shit. this song is fucking amazing and anyone who thinks otherwise should try and play the intro on drums. only then can you talk shit
this is my favorite song on this cd, i love the beggining
Completely agree with Stein, very well put. The song is most assuredly about the "Cthulu Myth" by H.P. Lovecraft. I thought exactly the same when I first read the lyrics.
what ever its about, the start sounds like he really is calling satan or cthuloo or whatever
H.P. LOVECRAFT REFERENCE!
"named of the foulest tongue"
"ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"
So awesome hearing Lovecraft references. THese guys own.
Yep, its about Cthulhu. Nice too see another lovecraft song, but id love to see something other than Cthulhu. And Stein, its mentioned in quite a few places that he is NOT one of the strongest, and actually quite weak compared to the other ones. hes rather the most well known and worshipped on earth.
Burtal ass intro, thats all i have to say
