Frustration with life and love. Trying to reconcile it and find meaning in life and the horrible feelings love can bring.

This is a very lush but intense song. The key change at "I'm getting closer now" totally complements the lyrics... a sign of hope in the midst of all the frustration. The line that really got me hooked on this song is "And I love you more than I can say But I hate you every other way." That's very meaningful and relevant to the emotion of love - it's hard to just separate what you adore and appreciate about a person from things they do and say that you just can't stand. You want all the good but you have to realize that no one's perfect and you aren't going to agree with everything a person does, even your loved ones.

I always got the impression this was about his first touring experience with Steve Vai; he's always been quote vocal that the experience jaded him to the music industry quite a bit.

This whole album pretty much summarizes my whole life, this song especially. Devin Townsend is a lyrical genius of his own sort, without a doubt.
