Here I am, driving through Japan at night
Here I am, pretending everything's alright
And I've got so far to go before the morn
And I can't believe how much it hurts at home
Here I am, living life inside a comic book
Here I am, bored with everything...
And I can't believe that I'm here to stay
'Cause I never worked it out this way
And I love you more than I can say
But I hate you every other way
Rain, falling down
Rain, falling down
Rain, falling down
Rain, falling down over me
I think I'm closer now
I think I'm closer now
I'm getting closer now
Under the light of the moon
And I can't believe that I'm here to
Stay, 'cause I never worked it out...
And I love you more than I can say
But I hate you every other...
And I'll keep my world from falling apart
In the corner of an aching heart
So say you'll come into the city
Come back with me please...

But I hate you every other way." That's very meaningful and relevant to the emotion of love - it's hard to just separate what you adore and appreciate about a person from things they do and say that you just can't stand. You want all the good but you have to realize that no one's perfect and you aren't going to agree with everything a person does, even your loved ones.

At this time he was touring Japan with Steve Vai. At his first album, he was already touring the world with a successful artist and a top notch band. Everything is doing fine, isn't it? So, why am I feeling like shit?

I love playing music for a living, I can't imagine doing another job, I'm not good at anything else. But in order to play, record and distribute my music, I have to deal with these scumbags at the labels and people telling me what to do, not to mention Steve Vai's egomaniac tendencies and gigantic fans spread through the stage to keep his hair waving nice so the cameras can capture that in high definition
