This song reminds me of a situation I was just in. Me and this girls were totally into eachother. The problem was she was with someone who was a total fucking asshole to her. She was afraid to end the relationship with him...and I sat around waiting for her to come around. Eventually he found out about me and her and left her. But then she was ignorant enough to go for a guy who was much worse intead of me...
This song reminds me of a situation as well. Me and my ex were engaged and she didn't know if it was the right thing to do (although I was the best thing that ever happened to her) so we split up to make sure this was right. She came back saying that she was sure this time. Same thing happened again. It appears to me that it's about someone that doesn't know what they want and is too ignorant or scared to see what is best for them. They also don't realize that they can't keep it up "Your chances fade away... Maybe you're oblivious inside" . The person on the other side of the fence doesn't want to let go or give up although they are taking all this punishment (the first verse)

This is my favorite song on the album. It also reminds me of a situation I am in. My girlfriend and I were together for 3 years, we broke up about a week and a half ago. I know that there aren't many people who can offer her what I'm willing to do for her, and she's so convinced that she's my downfall that our relationship doesn't get far. She doesn't realize that I fade away a little more everyday, just like in the song.
This song says all the words I can't say, so it's definately a favorite. :)
