Should I offer up my hand
And save a wish for once
For all of us
And should I offer up my hand
And lay the guilt on myself
So it's easier to not stay
To not stay

[Chorus:]
Because I found you in your corner
I pulled you out of the clouds
You left in such a hurry
Your face is lost in the crowd

Should I open up my eye's or just ignore who you are
And what you could have been
And should I open up my eye's and make believe you will change
So it's easier to not stay, to not stay

[Chorus]

Your face is lost in the crowd
Your face is lost in the crowd

i like this song inside and out, this reminds me of a friend you know for a long time. as the time flies he just starts to mess up and you don't know who he really is anymore once he sinks deeper.

perhaps about a friend who fell to drugs, and the person blames themselves.

seems like a bunch of people failed, one person is trying to re-right things, save the others, the others have given up "you left in such a hurry" and this person has not, trying to save them, depressing to some, but motivational to me

OKay so a quick example of what i think it means.

Person finds a druggie. He helps the druggie get back clean, and good. Then the druggie turns back to his drugs and does something to the guy, and in the end the guy feels cheated and that its almost his fault.

Could be applied to many things, relattionships etc.

To me this song is about a relationship. He's saying that he helped them out and brought them out of a shell, maybe. Then they turned their back on him and left him "holding the bag". I don't know. I'm going thru something just like this and it seems as if "she's" turning her back on me now that she's not in the shell I found her under. I see the "druggie" part to this song and so it could be about that too. This Cd is so bad ass for inspiration while feeling like shit!

I think its about both a relationship and drugs...I thinks its about how he helped the person he love beat an addiction but how in the end the person fell off the wagon and now shes lost in the crowd becuase he has given up.

you guys are semi right...the song is not about drug addiction...when i was at the concert here... he explained about this song a little....the song is about him and an ex...she cheated on him...she wants him to beileive that she will not lie anymore and will be true to him....he obviously has no reason to beleive her because she cheated on him...

I keep telling people, there is no such thing as right or wrong when interpreting lyrics. Lyricists write this stuff to share with us, it is not really the readers' job to take what they say word for word. Think for yourself. And if you notice, the caption above the comment box says "what does this song mean to you. I believe this song is about a person who maybe falls to peer pressure, doesn't necessarily about drugs. Maybe these two friends were both going through a difficult time and they were both there for each other like brothers but one day, one of em just snaps and gives in to temptations, resorts to alcohol and whatnot for an escape. Sure, it sounds a tad far out but that's what you're supposed to do when interpreting lyrics.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
