Read this letter in reverse to feel, hear and rehearse the meaning that was hidden behind the words.
So cast the first stone, I'll follow in your wake, but I'm not sure if I can make myself at home.

Consider this/consider me to be the catalyst.
And I'll consider this diary to be an obituary.
My name was written off before I knew the English language.

Dear ambulance- take me places I've never been, and heal the wounds I could never touch.
I missed a second chance...And this romance bleeds and burns more everyday.. I'll pray for twisted roads just to say I've lost my way home. - Sincerely and forever.

And friends will fail, and your heart will break.
Your mind will close and you'll fall asleep with one eye open..
But dear your lungs may rust, and the things you lust will turn to wilted petals of a rose whose thorns have been dulled by the parasite of conformity.
And how I'd love to hold you but even the dullest thorns tease these weakened wrists.

Dear ambulance- take me places I've never been, and heal the wounds I could never touch.
I missed a second chance...And this romance bleeds and burns more everyday.. I'll pray for twisted roads just to say I've lost my way home. - Sincerely and forever.

Rhetoric fails.. And mediocrity is my countervail.
Now that endearments have become so stale,
The frailty of emotion has proven to be the bane of our existence.
.
[acoustic guitar comes in..]

Sincerely and forever these sentiments of love have severed the chains of reality

This is the first song we wrote as a band (although I wrote all the lyrics), and some of the parts we may change and the like. To explain it, the beginning verse is based on rhythym and such, the 'catalyst' part is heavy with screams, the chorus is energetic, the second verse is somewhat identical to the first, and the part after the second chorus is a breakdown. After rhetoric fails... is whispered it gets upbeat and energetic and slightly heavy, then leading down into an acoustic outro of many emotions.

This song has a load of different meanings.

In the first verse it is contemplating the past, and the many things you can learn from it. And in a relationship sometimes the first move is the hardest and although it may not seem right in the beginning its brilliant in the end, hence the learning from the past part.

The screamy verse is pretty much self-explainitory, and in terms of diaries, it means how people can consider others dead in the things they write about, and this was basically inspired by teenage angst online journals.

The reference to ambulances in the chorus is about a thing or person who can make you feel so much better about things. It relates to me becuase I often pursue a romance that makes no sense, and how I'm delaying the inevitable or a reason to continue something pointless. (twisted roads to say ive lost my way home).

The third verse is pure honesty. Its basically saying everyone goes through the problems mention in this song. The end of it pertains to me again, because ive fallen for 'conformed' shallow people, and its made me upset in my past, again tieing in with the first verse.

The breakdown and ending are very self-explaintory and I hope to add a level of connotation with those verses.

Thats about it for this song, im sure it wasnt too deep, i try to make some parts a little deeper than others, im not great and making things very contemplative. Thanks for reading and or listening to our music. AE loves you.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
