This song is so beautiful. It seems to be about how her obsession with someone is so extreme, she would stoop to any low - "laying, sinking, slumming, dying" - just to be with this person that night. It's totally obsessive and self-destructive.
I also love the "where am, am I? in the hallway small" etc part. Very reminiscient of a drinking/drug binge.
I always thought that this song was about the whole transfer from Tim Armstrong to Josh Homme. In the whole album, she mentions the color red a couple times. ("Scarlet letter on my chest", "There's a red light")

i've got to say this is one of my favorite songs of all time just the way she sings it and the mood the music creates i don't know i just love it, damn my girly voice!! sometimes i can't hit the low notes in the "where am, am i part"...shit.
