Light The Torch

I have a very different interpretation to others stated thus far. I think this is from the perspective of a man whose girlfriend / wife has been treated poorly in a past relationship. This song is directed at that man who treated their girlfriend / partner so poorly.

"Cause he's able to do it again Degrade and suffocate"

Can start up more relationships and treat the women equally as poorly.

"Getting the useful support From his passive friends"

How many times do you support your mate, who you know is a jack arse, to get a girl (even though you know they won't treat them right)?

"Give me a sign and I'll do just What I'm thinking right away"

Asking his girlfriend to give him permission to retaliate (teach the ex a lesson)

"How can she ever forget, So suffer and start to regret It will come around cause you know That she'll be thinking of you I feel so powerless"

The ex's actions have had long-term effects on his partner. Either through fear of her ex's reaction or her association of certain things to him. The narrator feels powerless because he can't simply fix them for her.

The remainder is about their hatred for the ex ... and more so how destroyed they've left their partner. The concern is that the ex will never be taught a lesson and continue to hurt more. Hence for the title, "Light the Torch" and reveal the true nature of this man.

This is obivously about peer pressure.

I don't know how much the song is about peer pressure, more that it's the lack of peer pressure.

The song seems to be about a serial killer, who's friends are just standing by, saying nothing and in doing so, letting him keep killing. It gets to a point where he says "I better light the torch", meaning that he has to be the one who starts the hunt to bring down the murderer and end the pain.

I'm not the best at this, but thats what I get from the song.

This song is awesome.. I think this song is about someone who saw that those who surround him are staying quite and do not act on a certain bad situation (“passive friends”). The bad situation may be that the he is degraded by the fact that his girlfriend left him... The best way out of it would be to lead the way (“light the torch”) and act on his problems, knowing that some support from his friends will allow him to act swiftly ("Give me a sign and Ill do just What Im thinking right away")…

It's about rape and how the rapists passive friend doesent give a fuck as long as it wont affect them. The vocalist is thinking about murdering the rapist, but he also doesent wont to and wants a compromise, but the rapist denies it and therefore its impossible for the vocalist to decide. I think the song is great, but it reminds me of a friend that got raped and now I can hardly listen to it anymore. And its "useless support", not "usefull".
