Never Gonna Find Me Lyrics

Whaoooohoooohooooo

On a mission started by my own admission,
I will leave you all behind.
Bi-direction I create my own protection,
the real me you'll never find.

Aspirations turn to fear of desperation,
Nothing's ever good enough for you.
Burning inside cause I see there's no tomorrow,
I'm only seeing what I want you to.

Never gonna find me,
Never gonna find me,
Well, way underneath inside is the real me,
I'm always gonna hide, so this is who you'll see.
Never gonna find me,
Never gonna find me,
Well, way in deep inside me you haven't found me yet,
I'm always gonna hide, and this is who you'll get.

Whaoooohoooohooooo

On a mission to establish my attrition
you may think that you have won.
Your rejection has brought on my introspection,
I'll escape it all and run.

Accusations may destroy my motivation
I can feel it when you're pushing me.
Burn inside because I see there's no tomorrow,
Only I know which me you'll see.

Never gonna find me,
Never gonna find me,
Well, way underneath beside me is the real me,
I´m always gonna hide it, this is who you´ll see.
Never gonna find me,
Never gonna find me,
Well, way in deep inside me you haven't found me yet,
I'm always gonna hide it, this is who you´ll get.

Whaoooohoooohooooo

Break away.
Run.
Down inside.
I've got to push away.
Down.
I did not choose this.
God dammit!

I don't really know, what I wanna say,
I can't afford to throw, god make it go away now.
Try to make it through, fuck your decision,
I can't feel myself but I'm burning up now.

I know many people who are like the person in the song. Those persons hide their real character behind a fake one. The others think they are like that and will never find the persons' "real me".

Great song. For me, the best Splinter song is Lightning Rod, but the part from 1:57 - 2:20 or so is the best part in the whole album!

It's always represented the concept of ambiguity to me. Something along the lines of making up a character. Everyone knows you as this character but they don't actually know you.

This song sounds like it could be a sociopath. Sociopaths are people who, well, really just don't feel. They feel no remorse or guilt about what they do and will not do anything if it doesn't benefit them in the long wrong. Most sociopaths have spent most of their lives hiding their true people, since the media has portrayed them as psychopaths, but really only 20% of prisoners are sociopaths. This could be from the perspective of a sociopath, who, after realizing that he's a sociopath (On a mission started by my own admission,), is just trying to hide and fit in.
