Down Another Day Lyrics

The end is near, my summer days
All great things go away
Feel the cold coming 'round the bend
Everything is going to change again.

Down another day, down another day.

Oh, the winter I adore
Summer's gone forevermore
Someday, she’ll come back to me
Seasons change set me free

Down another day, down another day.

Don't have to bore you with details
(I'll never let you down)
In the morning, the sunrise
(will never let you down)
If I could hold you tomorrow
(I’ll never let you down)
When she’s golden, the ocean
(will never let you down)

The end is near, my winter fling
Change is melting everything
Now it's time to sink below
Season come, season go

Down another day, down another day.

Don't have to bore you with details
(I'll never let you down)
In the morning, the sunrise
(will never let you down)
If I could hold you tomorrow
(I’ll never let you down)
When she’s golden, the ocean
(will never let you down)

I keep saying good-bye, saying good-bye, keep saying good-bye
She's always coming back. She keeps coming back. She keeps coming back.
I keep saying good-bye, saying good-bye, keep saying good-bye
Then, she's always coming back. She keeps coming back. You keep coming back.

Don't have to bore you with details
(I'll never let you down)
In the morning, the sunrise
(will never let you down)
If I could hold you tomorrow
(I’ll never let you down)
When she’s golden, the ocean
(will never let you down)

Down another day, down another day
(will never let you down)
Down another day, down another day

Oh, another one of summing it up is that he is holding onto a summer romance he has had, when the other person has already let it go.

I agree with the first comment more. I think Fred's songs are more potent on this album than on his other ones. They're far less vulgar and more heartfelt. I think Results May Vary is a better album because of the songs, except for that raunched remake of "Behind Blue Eyes."

I agree with Scabba Ranker, this is their best song. As for the meaning, I think it's more about a relationship than the end of the world or leaving school. Although, that's just personal opinion.

I think its about a relationship. And judging on what Fred was feeling during the production of this album, I'd take a good guess is probably is.

Apart from that, I feel its about looking back, possibly regretting, and missing things. About how he was feeling at those certain points he was looking back at. As far as it is talking about someone he was in love, or interested in, he is looking back and realizing that this person is still in his head. Sounds as if he is trying to get her out of his head, but no matter what, he always ends up thinking about her. And he knows no matter how many times he tells her he'll never let her down and try to get her in his grasp...he knows he should just say goodbye, cause shes already gone.

This is the best song on the Results May Vary album, i know it's is about how Fred seems to like some seasons more than others asa ametaphor for life events. To me it's about that time in your life when you leave school and you realise for the rest of your life your gonna be a slave to the system, work takes over and it all repeats. "Down Another Day"
