I Won't See You Tonight, Pt. 2

I understand the anger in this song as it's in response to Part1..but does anyone else find it kind of selfish that this person wants their friend alive just because they feel they need him? It seems kind of selfish that someone wants you to be alive and miserable because they can't or don't want to live without you.

You just never really know what someone is going through.

Obviously it's about a suicide note. I think the second is a reaction to it. After all, both songs are part 1 and part 2 of the same title. But in part 1, before I read the stuff about the bass player who attempted suicide, I thought the "bottles are calling me" was referring to someone taking to alcohol, knowing once they start down that road they will never come back.

I wonder if part 2 is from the point of view of a friend of the guy and he is also suicidal after seeing his friend attempt suicide and go insane. There's a reccuring theme about depression and mental health in some of their songs and the way they write them are just epic.

Honestly I don't really care about the real facts that made them write the song, I only care about it's meaning, and how it goes well with.. erm.. Jimmy's death =( Well, I think there are a few sentences that can be pointed out as really meaningful here : " I just want to die, take away my life, lay by your side, please" : the person speaking (let's say Matt), doesn't give a damn about afterlife, he just wants to die to get away from the pain of losing his close friend, the one he relied on to stay strong. He wants to disappear, along with his friend , without knowledge of what might happen after death.

The title (I won't see you tonight PART 2) , and the chorus from the first part (Sorrow , sinks deep inside my blood... away) , shows that that person (Matt)'s suicide, will recreate the same situation among another love one .

I guess that's it. Anyway I love this song, it's one of their most intense ones. R.i.P Jimmy <3 </3

I don't think you really songs about suicide from the prospective of someone that has had to watch their friend leave thier life... its makes part1 even more amazing

Yea mo money got it right. Right before "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" was released A7X's former bassist Justin Sane (not the Anit-Flag singer) attempted suicide by drinking bottles of cough syrup. This song is M Shadows's response to Justin's suicide note. Even thoughtJustin didnt die he fried his brain almost completely. Justin is the one playing bass on STST but they replaced him with Dameon Ash and not too long after that they replaced Dameon with Johnny Christ. This is one of my favorite songs by Avenged. Its all amazing.
