We were lovers
We were kissers
We were holders of hands
We were make believers
Just losing time

And you said you'd rather live in TV land
Than say that you care
But you don't
That's heartless and I will not cry

But I'm still in love
And I'm still in love
And I'm still in love
And I'm still in love

Your dreams of acting onscreen
What do they mean
You'll be dancing sexless in your bedroom

And you find yourself out of a job
And before too long
You'll be selling lemonade to the overpaid

And I'm still in love
And I'm still in love
And I'm still in love
And I'm still in love

I remember
It was summer
I was out of my head
But you weren't you're self-assured
Waste of space

But I'm still in love
And I'm still in love
And I'm still in love
And I'm still in love
I'm still in love
And I'm still in love
And I'm still in love

It is so sad being stuck in love with someone. "We were lovers/ we were kissers/ we were holders of hands." That's hard to lose.

he was in love with this girl.. they had their time together, and she decided to go off to hollywood 'tv land' to persue her dream, so she gives him up for this.. he cares about him, but not that much and 'it's heartless' to him.. meaning it broke his heart but he won't cry about it..

..the narrator is still in love with her despite his bitterness about her breaking his heart, and knows that her dreams won't work out or maybe he hopes they won't in his own vengeful mind..

she made him fall over heels, and left him for her own reasons and as much as he hopes the worse for her.. he has to admit he's still in love with her

'You're selfish and a waste of space...but I'm still in love' What an amzingly truthful line. The the line that sticks out to me, bacuse I can relate, and I;m sure many others can. You're in that post-relationship period where you say you hate that person, but the only reason you claim to hate them is because you're still deeply infatuated with them. There's a thin line between love and hate, and that's what the song is basically about.

"We were lovers We were kissers we were holders of hands, we were make believers"

I love that. it's great how he is kind of insulting lovers who think they are in love. passion can sometimes be confused with love, hence, make believing.... it never lasts, i mean, reality comes knocking one way or another.

i think it's "you'll be dancing senseless in your bedroom", not sexless. and it's also "i remember/it was summer/i was out of my head/but you weren't/you're selfish and/a waste of space"

I think it's senseless too. But it's still a nice song.

I love this song.... Seems to be about the speaker who still is infatuated with the subject, even though they [probably she] was acting totally sophomoric and supercilious..... I checked the stills's website - thestills.net/ and birthcontrolblues' corrections are right according to the website. You can get the entire album's lyrics from there.

losing* They're right, it is senseless, not sexless, learn to listen before you type it

Well, the song is most likely about how the guy is still in love after he was dumped.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
