How Soon Is Now?

I like this cover, but I actually heard it before any other versions, and I think that most of the time, you like the first version you hear, and then the other ones are unfamiliar so they don't sound as good to your ears. I felt the same way about Britney Spears' Satisfaction, I heard it before the original, and even though her version is crap, I liked it better because it's what I knew.

quote-on-quote- the term is "quote-unquote" When you are talking you can't really say the quotation mark, so you say "As psychololly said, quote i understand people being annoyed at this cover, unquote." Same as making the quotation mark gesture with your fingers.

As far as covers go, I like them because they take a song that a group of people with a certain taste might never have listened to, and they rework it so that more people can enjoy it. It's not about stealing someone's work, it's about sharing it with other people. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Has anyone here who's posted a hate comment even LISTENED to the song? Good fucking god, if you hate the music, get the fuck out of t.A.T.u's section of the site, and go to the music you DO like. Don't waste your breath trying to insult or 'convert' other people to your side of things.

Has anyone ever noticed that whenever ANY band does a cover of ANY song, some select retards from the original fan base get up and arms and spam "OMFG THIS SONG IS SO FUCKIN GAY THEY BROKE IT LMFAO <insert band here> SUCKS ASS" all over it?

Unbelieveable cover. Regarless of who or what T.A.T.U. are themselves, (I'm not fans) this is unbelieveable job. Their voices are a bit strange but I love the heavier guitar. It's such a contrast to the Morrissey/Marr Compositon that's so dear to my heart. and it's the only cover of this song I can get behind.

Now I'm not a Moz purist, and covers of songs can be very interesting.

But seriously, with all due respect....does anyone remember those "Chipmunk Punk" and "Urban Chipmunk" novelty albums in the late 1970's-early 1980's???

(Note to non-USA readers: there was a cartoon called Alvin And The Chipmunks, featuring, you guessed it, pet anthropomorphic chipmunk performers, and their manager / owner, Dave.)

I was suprised they did the cover so well. I found it much better than the Smith's version, and I actually like The Smiths.

It's great, but I prefer Love Spit Love's version.
