Ever So Sweet Lyrics

I just found a friend in one of your lies
To treat me so nice, I can't believe my bones
When they say so many things
They tell me I am fine
Believe me I, I try

Ever so sweet you make this seem
The way things go
It's not my fault
And I'll miss, I'll miss you so good
All of those nights that we lost our way back home

Ever so sweet, you baked it in cakes for me
What you left behind
It hurts my teeth
Bringing the past with the postcards you sent for me
Every line
It brings me right back down

Can't you see the wall you build for me?
Can't you see the wall you build for me?
Can't you see the wall you build for me?
We're not special
We're not special
We're not special
I'm not special
I'm not special

Ever so sweet, you baked it in cakes for me
What you left behind
It hurts my teeth
Bringing the past with the postcards you sent for me
Every line
It brings me right back down

"Ever So Sweet" is an amazing song that represents a loss of a friend/girlfriend and the denial involved

i dont think this song has anything to do with drugs. its just about a guy whose girlfriend was being dishonest with him, but instead of coming out and telling the truth, she sugarcoated it. "ever so sweet, you baked it in cakes for me. what you left behind, it hurts my teeth". thats just saying that even though she sugarcoated the truth and made things good for the time being, it hurt more to find out later. and the thing about "every line, it brings me right back down" is just saying that whenever he talks to her, he's reminded of the way he felt during their dishonest relationship

i think this song is about a girl who doesnt realize how much this guy cares about her. the guy knows he'd b the best thing thats ever happend to her, and she doesnt even notice, "what you left behind, it hurts my teeth"

The song Ever So Sweet is about a guy in a relationship that he knows is over, but he keeps holding onto it. “I just found a friend, in one of your lies..” Here, he is saying how willing he was to grab onto anything the girl said to him, no matter how untrue it seemed, he still let himself act as the victim. “To treat me so nice, I can’t believe my bones when they say so many things. They tell me I am fine, believe me, I try.” Again, he says how he let himself believe all of her lies, and he liked how he felt, even if the things she said weren’t real. In his mind, he knows that she is lying and being untrue, but there are parts of him that won’t let go, because when she does those things to him, he feels like she actually loves him. On the surface, he tries to convince himself that it is alright, and that she truly does feel this way, but the convincing never quite works well enough and he’s left empty-handed. “Ever so sweet, you baked it in cakes for me.” All of her deceptions were well-planned and sugar-coated, as if she thought it would lessen the blow, and possibly rid his mind of suspicions. Overall I think this song is describing some sort of failing relationship, yet he’s not ready to let go quite yet.

I think that alaskalover is close, but not quite it. It sounds to me like its about one of those girls that goes around hooking up with every guy she finds, and one of the guys she hooked up with deveoped feelings for her, even though when she says things like "i like you" and "i miss you", its really just something she tells guys in order to get with them.

you really are an idiot if you think this song is about drugs.

"baked it in cakes for me/it hurts my teeth" hid the truth and sugar coated your lies.

"bringing the past/brings me down" hes trying to get over it because he knows shes a liar...but its hard to move on because shes reminding him of all the great times they had.

In general, this song is kick ass. The sense of despair and longing toward the end is generally a "just got the wind pulled out from ya" kind of effect. If you've been a relationship in the past, this song can really hit home with your emotions; especially if you're ex has hurt you in any way...and let's be honest here, we've all felt like our heart has been ripped out of our chest. So, in general, this song COULD be about a man that had broken the ties of a relationship, and is looking through all the old photos, letters, running through old memories in his mind (Bringing the past with the postcards you sent for me, Every line. It brings me right back down), He could regret the choice he has made, but was forced to break the ties because she had caused him so much hurt.

Just a thought!
