Emma Lyrics

Emma appeared like an angel
Emma fell like rain
Into my lap like a heart attack, like lightning from her name
I'm running dry of bad excuses
Don't want to lie or seem intrusive
But time hasn't told me anything, and neither has she
A poinsettia in poison rain
Traded true love for insult and injury
We washed it down the drain with one silver bullet and two vicodin
With two vicodin
Emma woke up in darkness, suitcase already packed
Note on the bedstand signed in blood, "Sincerely, never coming back."
A nightmare on my street the day she arrived
A nightmarish household in which she died, because it made her feel at home
Somehow made me feel at home
A poinsettia in poison rain
Traded true love for insult and injury
We washed it down the drain with one wooden stake through the heart and two vicodin
A poinsettia in poison rain
Traded true love for insult and injury
We washed it down the drain with one silver bullet and two vicodin
We watched the sun fall crown on a city that sleeps in a world upside down
A slow ticket straight out of town
You went out with a bang when you took with you all my dreams underground
With you all my dreams underground

good mourning is a bad cd. so now you going to maul me?

my name is emma too. i love this song. it's always in my away message

i agree with whoever said this is about emma killing herself, and that he based his life around her. i think he kills himself too though.

the line "one silver bullet and two vicodin" has nothing to do with vampires...

vicodin is a strong painkiller and its effects are greatly increased by the consumption of alcohol

a silver bullet in this case is a coors light can; he's drinking the beer with the vicodin to get fucked up

fucking sick line...

"Into my lap like a heart attack, like lightning from her name"

How could these lyrics not be about a Dog you Bozo's

Some girl asked me who Emma was on Twitter.

Check my Twitter and thanks for all the support. http://twitter.com/danielandriano

Really love that song, definately my favorite from Good Mourning. The chorus kicks soo much ass and yeah, i think it was the right decision to let Dan sing Matt's song...

I couldn't agree more. I love the harmony in the chorus.

I think I heard something in an interview snibbit about how this song is about when Matt was in school and there was this girl that kicked him in the balls in front of everyone. Beautiful song(maybe it's due to the fact that the love of my current life is named Emma...)

The girl didn't kick matt in the balls, it was a teacher on the playground because she wanted to reveil that something was going on which she didn't think was right.

dans voice is more of a crooner which totally compliments matts raspier one. i tend to favor matts voice although i do agree that dan totally makes this song

This song kicks so much ass...it almost pains me to hear people say that Good Mourning is a bad CD. I swear to god I'm gonna maul the next person that says that, although most of my friends share my taste in music, there are the select few with 0 taste that like other stuff. But yeah...great song
